Thank you for your prayers for our ultrasound! Everything looked great and baby is doing fine. Some of you knew the back story, but I feel like it needs to be documented for posterity's sake...
We weren't going to tell the gender of this baby. Daniel and I made a bet over a year ago...we were trying to be healthier and lose some extra weight. We couldn't think of anything motivating to wager---if we wagered money, we were just wagering each other's money. If we wagered a nice dinner, we'd both still benefit. Etc. So we wagered knowing the gender of the next baby, if there was one, as the prize bestowed to the person who lost the largest body percentage in X amount of time. Well, I'm just a loving wife. So I had warm chocolate chip cookies (my husband's downfall if he has one!) waiting for him on the stove on a semi-regular basis when he came home from work. He chose to eat them. It wasn't my fault. Though some have called me mean when they hear the story, others have called me their hero.
Anyway. So here was July 23rd. Daniel and I are in the office, and the question is asked. "Are we finding out the gender of the baby today?" Well, when we explained our answer, our sonographer laughed and said in her 14-odd years of doing this, she'd never had a situation where one spouse couldn't find out. So she completed her regular scan, and then politely asked Daniel to leave while she determined that we are having a.....(Dad--stop reading. [He still says he wants to be surprised. We will see how long he can make it.]) Well, I can't tell you yet.
So the next night, I went to a consignment sale. What a steal. We love consignment sales. We have Ryan and Danielle to thank for that. They took us to a Just Between Friends sale when Noah was just 11 weeks old. As fast as kids grow, and as quickly as things get stained, it just makes sense to me. Although, sometimes I do think maybe we end up buying more than we need because the prices are so great. But back to the story...I found some perfect clothes...seen below...and then got so excited about my great deals that I couldn't not tell Daniel anymore. I did make it 24 hours, but finally gave in and told him. We both agree it's better this way. We both get to be excited about our....baby girl! I was totally shocked. I was convinced this one was a boy. Convinced. Daniel, on the other hand, says he knew all along. :)
So hooray! :)

| I found these cute clothes... |
 |
Plus these adorable jeans. And Trumpette socks for $2 for a set of 6!
Then we went back for the 50% off day...
 |
| Plus this adorable swimsuit and cover up. |

I found all of these! Onesies, a Cardinals outfit, ruffled bottom pants, and a Valentine's Day outfit.
Daniel found these cute pieces. His favorite is the onesie that says, "Daddy did my hair" :)
Plus we got a package of new outfits from Grandma Sampson this week. And my sweet niece Brooke agreed to let us borrow some of Kadence's clothes. Since she was born last December we think that will work out perfectly. So, I think it is safe to say we are set on clothes...at least up to 3 months! We are excited to prepare for Baby S's arrival (name still to be determined...)
There she is!
Noah's 2 year checkup was Saturday. He is also doing great. His development is right on track. (Daddy and I can get frustrated with Noah's indecisiveness...he tends to go back and forth on what he wants in the span of 2.9 seconds and then gets mad that you weren't on top of what he wants.) But otherwise, he's great. He's adjusted to the new daycare just fine and loves waving bye to me in the mornings. He has recently developed an attachment to his blanket and continues to love Eric Carle books, pizza, oatmeal, bananas, Nutri-grain bars, and water. His growth charts look great and are below (mostly just for us...you probably don't care!) :)
Playing at the park. Noah actually said, "Cheese" for this picture when told to!
Noah and Cole playing in Mark and Emily's backyard. Noah practiced rolling down the hill with Daddy. He wiped out a few times down a big hill, but just laughed and popped right back up...it seemed like a worrisome glimpse into my future!
We dogsat for Mark and Emily this week...Noah is usually a little intimidated by Izzy, but he warmed up a lot over the course of a few days and was often found playing in her cage!
And...this is why we didn't give him blankets in his bed until he was really mobile!
We got free passes to the Magic House and took that trip last night. The place was absolutely packed and and a little bit over-stimulating. The pictures aren't great because Noah was constantly on the move, but we all had a blast!

We have also had some emotional moments around our house lately. Two weeks ago, Daniel's Jeep and my Acadia were broken into. They weren't damaged...but some things were stolen, including cash, my wallet, the faceplate to Daniel's stereo, and the spare keys to my car. We are so thankful they didn't just steal my car...which could have easily happened. And we are thankful that a kind neighbor found my wallet the next morning with everything in it except the cash. And that another kind neighbor found the faceplate to Daniel's stereo in his yard a few days later. But it has certainly shaken our sense of security. And we have seen evidence of trespassers at least three times since then. We aren't sleeping well, always with one ear tuned to the driveway. Daniel installed security cameras this weekend, and while we thought that would make us calmer and get more sleep, we're actually a little bit more anxious--waking constantly to check the video feed in hopes of catching these thieves Similar events have occurred all over our neighborhood and our neighbors are really rallying to try to stop this. There are teenage boys who live in the area who are suspects but have yet to be caught. The police have amped up patrolling but with little success. We are hoping this gets taken care of soon---this mama is tired! :)
