A Big Boy and 30 Weeks

Oh my. As I wrote that title, my heart skipped a beat. Only 10 more weeks until Baby is here?? So much to do! At last check-up, all was still well. Baby measured just a week ahead of schedule with a strong heartbeat in the 150s, and I'm still two pounds below pre-pregnancy weight (so odd...I eat all the time!! I guess chasing after a two-year-old helps keep it off, though!) Baby moves often, and is now at the point that the movements make my stomach move on the outside. This fascinates Daniel (and honestly, kinda creeps him out a little bit too!), since he didn't really get to experience it with Noah. Getting excited to meet Little One, but I'm thankful for several more weeks to prepare!

Noah has turned into a "big boy" overnight. Literally. Grandma and Grandpa Shoemaker came to visit and brought a present of "big boy" underwear. We hadn't been pushing the potty training, but Noah requests to go on the potty occasionally. Daycare hasn't been quick to jump on board, which I really think has slowed down our progress. Noah spent Friday with Grandma and Grandpa and wore his underwear all day. He had two accidents in the early morning, from 11:00 on he stayed dry! Even through nap time! Saturday was a dry day too, aside from a poop in his diaper during nap time. Today has been dry, and even included poop in the potty! I can't believe how easy it has been. He has been such a quick learner---I almost feel like something is amiss because it has been so easy.

We set up Noah's "big boy" bed in his room a couple of weeks ago so he could start getting used to the idea of it. We talk about it and sit on it occasionally, but haven't pushed it yet either. (He doesn't even attempt to climb out of his crib, and we have a basinett for Baby so we didn't see a need to rush it). All of a sudden, Noah requested to take his nap on it Friday and fell right to sleep. Every nap and bedtime has been in the big boy bed ever since! This little boy is so sweet and compliant...he makes being a Mommy so easy sometimes! I'm so incredibly proud of him!!

Ready for church in a new shirt from Grandma Sampson and a fresh haircut with gel "like Daddy".
Noah got a hold of a book during nap time one day....I couldn't get too mad at him when I found out they had torn pieces of paper for an art project at daycare! Too bad it was one of his favorite books that he still asks to read...even though he knows it is "broken".
First night in a big boy bed!

I have such a great helper! (Noah often runs up to us saying, "I can help!" We love his servant heart!)

Mostly August

August just ran away from us! It is hard to believe September is already here (don't I sound old? ...And boring?....don't answer that.)

Baby is doing well, and as of now, is still unnamed. For some reason I don't feel the pressure to settle on that yet. We still have until after Thanksgiving (which makes it seem like a really long time!) or 93ish days (which makes it seem not so long!). Daniel felt Baby move for the first time on Sunday (Sept 1) which, of course, was exciting. I think he was starting to get annoyed at my many requests to put his hand on my stomach and then not feel anything, so he was pleasantly surprised to feel a swift kick at last.

Noah is as great as usual. He is talking up a storm (Daniel changed his diaper the other day and Noah said, "There no poop in there!". After falling on the playground, Noah kept telling me, "Me boo-boo head playground." On the way to school yesterday, he said, "Me Daddy cereal all gone home." to let me know he wanted to tell Daddy the cereal was all gone.) Every time another string comes out of his mouth, I am more impressed. Noah also went pee on the potty for the first time on Monday (oh yes, I've become that Mom...the one who talks about her child and the potty...) He has frequently been asking to sit on the potty, but nothing happens, so when something actually came out, he was quite surprised! An open mouthed-wide eyed child sat there until Daniel and I clapped and cheered for him. It hadn't happened again until tonight...when he asked to go potty three times in 30 minutes and really did pee each time. Way to go, Noah!

Daniel had to go to San Diego for a work trip for a week, so Noah and I made a weekend venture to Lebanon. Noah rarely pays attention to the TV when it is on, but certainly loved watching "'toons" at Grandma's and Grandpa's!

Checking out Grandpa's Jeep.

Noah really enjoyed the glaze Aunt Janice made for her pretzels!

This boy LOVES ice cream!

Noah's daycare was closed one day while Daddy was gone, so Grandma came back with us to stay a few days. Grandpa ended up coming and staying a day, too, when the water pump on my car broke and needed to spend some time in the shop.

This just made me laugh. This is how I found Noah when I went to wake him up one morning. The strange part was that his bed was dry! Thankfully!

While waiting for Grandpa to come, Mommy and Grandma were reading books on the front porch. Noah decided he needed some books to read, too.

Strangely enough, after spending more time with Grandpa, Noah now likes to sit on our couch and request 'toons while eating his morning cereal. Daniel got the movie, Cars for him, which is now an often requested treat.

We took another trip to Lebanon so that Daniel could join some of the family guys for the Fantasy Football draft. It isn't the best picture, but what sweet kids our family has! (Matthew, Noah, Brody, Addie, Kadence, Braelynn).

Noah helped me make brownies one night. While he loved pouring things in the bowl and stirring, his favorite part was certainly licking the spoon!

At the Museum of Transportation, we tried to take a selfie while waiting for the train ride to begin. Isn't he cute??

This isn't a video to watch--just one to listen to. This was my attempt at capturing Noah's version of "Old McDonald".

And this is Noah's version of "Happy Birthday".
