Lyla Turns Two!

I know all parents say it, but we just cannot believe our Lyla is two already! She brightens our every day with her antics, dramatics, and facial expressions. Her wrinkled nose smile will make anyone grin back, and her adoration for Noah goes unmatched. She talks constantly, constantly asking a variation of why, what happened, and how questions. She loves books and takes "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and her Elmo "Bubbles, Bubbles" book with her to bed at night. She still sleeps with her lovey, "Baby", her purple monkey, who is looking a bit ragged these days. She loves princesses, bows, fingernail polish, sparkles, and the color pink. She loves putting her shoes on, but even more loves taking them off, especially when in the car. She started asking to go potty a couple weeks ago, and is almost daytime potty trained (with a little struggle on the pooping...but we're getting there). She loves pizza, grapes, and cheese, and still won't touch a green bean without being bribed. She has a sweet tooth and can tell when chocolate is close. We love this little girl!

Grandma Sampson sent a puppy with a carrier and vet supplies as well as some plastic girly accessories. We showed Lyla how to put on the lipstick once, and she now carries it with her everywhere, putting it on every few minutes. The puppy has accompanied us on every outing since it's arrival, and we've listened to its heartbeat, fixed its cast, and fed it several times!

Her "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" birthday party was so fun, with Grandma and Grandpa Lenz, Emily and Cole, and Beckett, Tanya and Drew in attendance. I forgot to take pictures of the food before, but the picture proof shows it was enjoyed! :)
White dog milk and purple cat grape juice.
Black sheep coffee
Brown bear french toast casserole
Red bird/blue horse/green frog fruit salad and yellow duck scrambled eggs

Lyla loved everyone singing to her!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes for her birthday. We can't wait to celebrate many more with you, Lyla-Belle!

Videos from the past month

If the videos in the post don't work, the link is in the caption underneath and will go straight to the YouTube version of each one.

Lyla tells her BFF, Beckett, "Happy birthday!" Translation: "I love you, Beckett! Happy birthday, Beckett! Bye, Lyla."

Lyla reads "Brown Bear, Brown Bear". Every page says, "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?" :)

Lyla has been busy potty training. She's been great at staying dry, but pooping in the potty has been a challenge. She gets pretty excited when she is successful, because it means a sucker!
Video translation: "Lyla poop on the potty! Lyla get a sucker!" This song continued for quite a while!

Noah and Lyla sing, "Jingle Bells". Clearly, they don't know all the words. Lyla's version is, "Hammer bells, hammer bells, all way, fun!" They crack us up.
