Winter One-derland

Lyla's first birthday celebration started a few days early with some presents from Grandma and Grandpa Sampson.

Lyla loved her new baby doll!

She really enjoyed pushing the button to hear music and then dancing. 

Grandma and Grandpa Shoemaker arrived a day early to help with party preparation. I couldn't have done it without them! 

Emily and Jen came to help some, too. They did a great job with this entryway decoration. It looked amazing with the lights on.

Daniel was a huge help, too!

 Lyla loved her cupcake!

Noah was a great big brother during Sissy's party. After we blew out her candle, Noah asked for a cupcake, too. When I brought it to him, he said, "I want the candle on it, too." So I put the candle on it. Then he said,"I want it turned on." We had a good laugh and then lit it and let him blow out a candle, too. 

 Thank you so much to all who helped make our little snowflake's day so special! We love you, Lyla Grace, and are so happy that God entrusted you to us!

12 Months!

This month's photo shoot was a little rushed. I was trying to take a few quick pictures so I could get one printed and make the last photo block for Lyla's party. (Stay tuned for that post). This little girl just does not like to smile for the camera. We try, we really do! :) 

Likes: Pizza, walking with push toys, following Noah

Dislikes: green beans (yep, I'm pretty sure she'll never like them), Daddy leaving her or handing her off (little miss has developed quite an attachment in the past few weeks!) 

She can pull to stand and crawl on hands and knees now (much faster than her commando style!) but will only walk holding both hands or with a push toy so far. 

 Her hair is a little longer (slightly) but otherwise this face has basically remained the same since about three months! It's a face we love and are so blessed by. Happy birthday, sweet girl!
