Day Seven (And Last!)

So I found out late last night that I've been wrong all week. I thought we had company through tomorrow but found out that Caleb and Jackie actually come back tonight! So our last day had to be full of fun!

We started out at the Botanical Gardens. The kids had a blast. It started raining after we had been there about an hour, so we sent them to the splash pad, which they loved! We were met with groans when we told them it was time to go, which is exactly how you know it was a good trip. :)

The kids were ecstatic to discover that jumping on this made the geysers spray higher!

After the rain finally chased us back to our van, we headed to McDonald's for a special treat lunch and a few minutes in the play place, then back home for naps and then some time on the iPad. Lyla wanted to play with the boys!

Don't worry. It's not all fun and games around here! We put child labor to good use and took some time to make all the kiddos help out. Happy helpers putting away laundry, unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming, putting clothes and shoes away, and packing clothes were then rewarded with an outing to go bowling! (Check out kidsbowlfree.com to get your kids signed up for two free games each day of summer at lanes near you!)

We loved having such wonderful kids at our house all week! Thanks for sharing your precious ones with us, Sellers family!

Days Four, Five, and Six!

Come to find out, it's just a tad difficult to take care of five children, take pictures of all activities, and blog! I guess my attempt at daily updates didn't work out so well!

The big kids enjoyed their trips to the zoo and time with Gigi and Aunt K Wednesday.

Thursday brought a trip to Purina Farms (we did great with a 5:1 kid:parent ratio!) in the morning (including a picnic lunch) and another round at the slip and slide after naps (for the littles).

What a good lookin' crew!

Wagon Ride!

The morning wore a little girl out!

While we've had plenty of fun, we've also had our lazy moments with some movie watching, clearly enjoyed by all!

On Friday, Daniel and I tag-teamed childcare and working 3-4 hours each. And then (yet another) round on the slip and slide (who knew an $8 piece of plastic would be such a hit??) and a trip to the Magic House after dinner.

We're thankful everyone has had such a great week! (And we're hoping we wore them out enough that we get a sleep-in day tomorrow!) :)
