Our First Week-ish

We've had a busy, and at the same time relaxing, week. My mom left last Thursday and we spent the next few days adjusting to life on our own. Lyla is such an easy baby that she's making it a breeze! (She slept an eight hour stretch last night!)

Noah is still loving his little sister and doesn't seem to notice that life is any different. He doesn't ask to hold her quite as often as he did initially, but he still asks about her as soon as he wakes up in the morning and wants to kiss her head before he goes to bed at night. He is a wonderful big brother and already protective. When I burp Lyla, he tells me not to hit the baby! :)

On Friday, we enjoyed a holiday party at Noah's school but didn't take any pictures. Noah's favorite part was the snack room where he quickly snatched up the fruit snacks.

Don't judge our mismatched clothes. It was p.j. day. :) All snuggled up watching Mickey Mouse Christmas.
Daddy's spot is so cozy. (Don't worry--she only naps here with close supervision.)

We have a neighborhood Santa who comes around delivering presents to all the kids. We had to wait quite a while for his visit to our house. It was tiring! :)
Noah wouldn't sit on Santa's lap, but at least he didn't cry this way! When Santa asked what Noah wanted for Christmas, Noah paused for a few seconds before responding, "Christmas lights". Daniel and I had a good laugh over that one!
Noah got a small radio and Lyla got a soft baby doll. Noah has been more thrilled with the baby than his radio, but will quickly tell you it's Lyla's baby...he is just holding it. Noah climbed up on the couch with the baby doll and lifted his shirt, saying, "I feed the baby??" while holding the doll to his belly button. Another good laugh for Daniel and I.

We have had several sweet friends bring us some meals over the past few days and have loved introducing Lyla, but we are awful at remembering to snap photos of those early moments. Daniel remembered to capture Ryan and Shondra. We can't wait to meet your little guy soon!
