Winter Festivities

Winter Wonderland at Noah's school. Not bad for a phone picture. :)

That night Lyla spiked a fever which continued for a couple of days. So Noah and I went to her school party without her. The theme was Polar Express and it was so well done. So many cute details.
...like the cute tickets we were handed. We got a hole punch at each "station".
I know these are overexposed...I'm still learning this fancy camera. I'll figure out some photoshop-ing too. :)
His progression of sitting with Santa. These make me laugh.

A little bit better with some photoshop...
They had several rooms with ornament crafts. They were perfect for Noah because they mostly involved stickers, which he could do on his own.

Mrs. Claus reading the book and handing out bells.
We also got to watch the movie while eating breakfast. We really enjoyed our Mommy-Son time!
I spent some time reading tutorials and playing with the camera settings in anticipation of Christmas morning with my kiddos.

Noah and I made "melting snowman" (a combination of water/soap/baking soda shaped into a snowman and then squirting vinegar over the top to make it melt).

We made cinnamon ornaments (clothing optional).

And we made pinterest-inspired marshmallow snowman (he didn't care about adding other body parts).

Winter One-derland

(Warning: Picture overload!) :)

Lyla's first birthday celebration started a few days early with some presents from Grandma and Grandpa Sampson.
Lyla loved her new baby doll!
She really enjoyed pushing the button to hear music and then dancing.
Grandma and Grandpa Shoemaker arrived a day early to help with party preparation. I couldn't have done it without them!
Emily and Jen came to help some, too. They did a great job with this entryway decoration. It looked amazing with the lights on.
Daniel was a huge help, too!
Here is our "Happy Birthday" video. We got to video-chat with the Sampsons so they could be a part of the celebration.

 Lyla loved her cupcake!
Noah was a great big brother during Sissy's party. After we blew out her candle, Noah asked for a cupcake, too. When I brought it to him, he said, "I want the candle on it, too." So I put the candle on it. Then he said,"I want it turned on." We had a good laugh and then lit it and let him blow out a candle, too.
Thank you so much to all who helped make our little snowflake's day so special! We love you, Lyla Grace, and are so happy that God entrusted you to us!
